Beautifully situated on the Brisbane River, it attracts many attractions, bustling shopping precincts, a diverse range of restaurants, and a very wide and demanding cultural program. Places of interest include the "Botanic Gardens," the "Lone Pine Sanctuary" with koalas and kangaroos, "Brisbane City Hall," the pedestrian zone "Queen Street Mall," "Roma Street Parkland," "South Bank Parklands," the viewpoint "Mt Coot-tha Lookout" with fantastic views over Brisbane and the suburbs.

However, the city with its 59,300 inhabitants is not only a popular winter resort, but also known as the birthplace of Napoleon I, who was born on August 15, 1769 in a house on "Rue Saint Charles". Today, numerous streets, statues, and monuments still commemorate the famous son of the city. In the city hall, some impressive exhibits testify to the coronation of the former emperor. Attractions of the port city: In the church "Saint-Erasme," dedicated to the patron saint of sailors and adorned with ship models, Napoleon was baptized in 1539. The "Fesch" Museum offers a collection of works by Botticelli, Bellini, and Titian - donations from Cardinal Fesch, Napoleon`s uncle. There you will also find Bab Fahs, the main gate of the city wall. The coastal city is connected to the Spanish mainland by several ferries, which also travel to Algeciras, Tarifa, or Gibraltar.
