The nearby recreational areas and beaches give the port a special attraction. In addition to its diverse cultural offerings, the city is also home to numerous higher education institutions, such as the University of the Republic established in 1849.

Day : Puerto Madryn (Chubut), Argentina. Modern architecture largely defines the cityscape of Puerto Madryn, founded in the mid-19th century by Welsh colonists. Numerous swimming options are available on the beaches in the city center and surrounding areas. The idyllic beaches of Playa La Mimosa and Playa El Indio, located south of the city center, are shielded from the wind and very popular. Puerto Madryn is also Argentina`s most famous diving destination. The clear waters and rock reefs of Golfo Nuevo, as well as the diverse marine life, attract many visitors. Additionally, the nearby nature reserve of the Valdés Peninsula is home to colonies of sea lions, seals, and elephant seals, as well as whales and other marine animals.

Day : Sea day.

Day : Port Stanley (Ostfalkland), Falkland Islands. Port Stanley, the small capital of the Falkland Islands with about 2,000 inhabitants, is nestled in a rugged heathland. The town`s special charm comes from the single-story wooden houses in Victorian style and attractions such as the Anglican Cathedral with its unique colonnade made of whalebone, and the Falkland Island Museum.

Day : Cape Horn, Chile. Cape Horn (Spanish: Cabo de Hornos) is the southernmost point of South America, named by Dutch sailors after the city of Hoorn. It is located on an island belonging to Chile and was long considered one of the most feared maritime routes by sailors. In particular, the passage in a westward direction was very dangerous and difficult due to constant westerly storms. A monument in the shape of an albatross has been erected at Cape Horn, visible from passing ships. This monument is dedicated to the numerous sailors who lost their lives here in the first decades of the past century aboard their heavy cargo sailboats.

Day : Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego), Argentina. Ushuaia, the capital of the Argentine part of Tierra del Fuego, was built by prisoners. The old prison has turned into a tourist attraction and visiting it is a must. The city, considered the southernmost in the world, is located directly against the snowy mountains of the Andes and the Beagle Channel.

Day : Beagle Channel, Argentina/Chile. Named after Charles Darwin`s ship, the Beagle Channel is one of the most impressive waterways in the world. It is located at the southern end of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego (Great Island of Tierra del Fuego) and marks the border with Chile. Other attractions: "Les Eclaireurs" Lighthouse, sea lion colonies, Olivia Mountain, Gable Island.

Day : Punta Arenas, Chile. Punta Arenas is considered the southernmost city on Earth. Before the opening of the Panama Canal, the city on the Strait of Magellan was an important port, and a colorful mix of immigrants from Europe has shaped this place. In the summer, people gather at the Plaza, where large trees provide welcome shade.

Day : Sea day.

Day : Puerto Montt, Chile. Puerto Montt, the capital of the Chilean region of Los Lagos, is located approximately 1000 km south of Santiago on a wide Pacific bay. Despite its 130,000 inhabitants, the port city, which serves as the endpoint of the north-south railway, has maintained the charm of a cozy small town. Puerto Montt resembles a little Bavarian village with its ornate roofs and balconies, which was actually settled by Bavarians for a period of time. The city is known for its eucalyptus and pine forests, as well as its numerous lakes and snow-capped volcanoes.

Day : Sea day.

Day : San Antonio, Chile. San Antonio is a city in the Valparaíso region and has one of the largest ports in Chile. Not only is it an important economic factor, but also one of the city`s most significant attractions that can be explored on a port tour. Visitors can also observe sea lions and pelicans at the port. On Sunday mornings, there is a large fish and seafood market where freshly caught fish is sold directly by the fishermen. Local arts and crafts can also be purchased at the small shops on the pier. In addition to spending time at the port, taking a stroll along the street "Paseo Bellamar" is recommended as it offers stunning views of the sea.
