Cruise Route

Embark on a 12-day cruise adventure in North America, departing from New York and sailing to Quebec aboard the Norwegian Sky ship. During your journey, you will have the opportunity to explore various captivating destinations in the United States and Canada.

Day 1: New York (New York), USA. Departure time: 16:00. New York - the huge, vibrant city on the Hudson River and the secret capital of the world - is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating cities in the USA. Around 12 million inhabitants from all corners of the world call New York their home. The city is divided into five boroughs, with Manhattan being the heart of the city and also the most famous district. When thinking of New York, most travelers immediately associate it with Wall Street and Broadway, the Empire State Building, Fifth Avenue and the numerous museums, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. All of this can be found in New York City, even within the "small" borough of Manhattan. "The Big Apple," as the city is also called, is a melting pot of culture and nationalities, of the poor and the rich, the epitome of contrasts. Often sung about and described, New York is a city of constant change. It is a center of economy, art, and architecture, experienced differently by each of the over 25 million visitors it attracts annually.

Day 2: Martha`s Vineyard (Massachusetts), USA. Arrival time: 07:00. Departure time: 16:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. Martha`s Vineyard is located off the southern coast of Cape Cod and belongs to the state of Massachusetts. The island is home to an old fishing community and boasts a picturesque natural landscape with untouched fields and beautiful beaches. Traditional houses add to the romantic atmosphere of the island, making it a popular destination for day trips.

Day 3: Boston (Massachusetts), USA. Arrival time: 11:00. Departure time: 20:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. Boston, the capital of Massachusetts and gateway to New England, is a city steeped in history yet also vibrant and energizing. With just over half a million inhabitants, Boston is one of the most historically and culturally interesting and beautiful cities in the USA. Unlike any other major city, it boasts countless historic buildings and neighborhoods and ranks among the most architecturally fascinating cities on the continent. Historic buildings, picturesque cobblestone streets, and relaxing parks create a harmonious cityscape alongside modern skyscrapers. In the harbor, a section of the Berlin Wall can be admired, and there are also opportunities to embark on whale-watching excursions by ship.

Day 4: Portland (Maine), USA. Arrival time: 08:00. Departure time: 17:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. Portland is the largest city in the US state of Maine and is located on its southern coast. The birthplace of the famous writer Stephen King offers numerous sights that attract many tourists. Particularly popular as a photographic motif is the Portland Head Light lighthouse, but the brick facades of the downtown area are also an attractive sight. If you want to see more of the city`s historic center, you should take a detour to the Old Port and the Western Promenade. The tranquil harbor city is also characterized by its modern Financial District, as Portland is known as the headquarters of large banks and insurance companies.

Day 5: Sankt Johann (New Brunswick), Canada. Arrival time: 08:00. Departure time: 16:00. Duration of port stay: 8 hours. The province and port city is located in the mountains near the Atlantic. The city has restored warehouses at the harbor, which are now a popular tourist destination. A good view of the city can be enjoyed from Signal Hill, and visitors should also make a detour to the grand Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The old town offers numerous shops and restaurants. Excursions can be made to the bird cliffs of Newfoundland or, for those who prefer the cold, take a boat to see the icebergs and whales in the region.

Day 6: Halifax (Nova Scotia), Canada. Arrival time: 10:00. Departure time: 19:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. Halifax is not only the capital of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, but also has one of the world`s largest ports. The city, located near Montreal, is known for its numerous galleries and museums; furthermore, countless cultural and musical events take place in the port city. The city`s harbor is located in the picturesque coastal landscape. Here, there are still some historic buildings where small shops, restaurants, and the "Museum of Natural History" are located, which houses an exhibition about the Titanic. Other attractions include Citadel Hill, Parliament, the Spring Garden Road region, the Public Gardens, and Point Pleasant Park.

Day 7: Sydney (Nova Scotia), Canada. Arrival time: 11:00. Departure time: 19:00. Duration of port stay: 8 hours. The historic Sydney with its Scottish flair is the gateway to the national park and natural paradise Cape Breton. Long mountainous roads through the Highlands of Cape Breton offer breathtaking views over a unique landscape. On hikes, you often see moose, Canadian elks, as well as whales frolicking near the coast. Nova Scotia`s third-largest city also has the oldest Catholic church in Cape Breton, St. Patrick`s, numerous golf courses, and a historic steel plant that contributed to the city`s rise in the 19th century.

Day 8: Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island), Canada. Arrival time: 11:00. Departure time: 19:00. Duration of port stay: 8 hours. The negotiations that led to the Canadian Confederation took place here in 1864. The small city center exudes a lovable and nostalgic atmosphere. All the houses have been restored. In addition to classic brick buildings, there are also brightly colored, traditional row houses. The island`s cultural center is also located in Charlottetown, where a large festival takes place annually, featuring Canadian musical productions, among others.
