Day 8: Milford Sound, New Zealand. Arrival time: 07:00. Departure time: 09:00. Duration of port stay: 2 hours. The Milford Sound is a fjord on the South Island of New Zealand and is probably one of the country`s biggest tourist attractions. The most popular way to explore the fjord is by water. Numerous boats depart daily and take passengers out onto the water to enjoy the beauty and unique sight of this natural spectacle. A walk from the docking points leads directly to another attraction, the Lady Bowen Falls. From there, you can once again enjoy a breathtaking view of the Milford Sound and the most distinctive mountain in the area, the Mitre Peak.
Day 8: Doubtful Sound, New Zealand. Arrival time: 12:30. Departure time: 13:30. Duration of port stay: 1 hours. The vast, remote area of the untouched fjord "Doubtful Sound" overwhelms every visitor. Due to heavy rainfall, there is a several meter thick layer of fresh water on the sea water, which absorbs light through the washed out plant residues. Therefore, corals can be found here, which are usually only found at greater depths, just a few meters below the water surface. Other inhabitants of the fjord are dolphins, penguins, and fur seals.

In 1769, the explorer James Cook landed on the city`s coastline. The large meeting house of the indigenous Maori, which features many traditional carvings and paintings, is particularly worth seeing.

North of Auckland, the "Leigh Marine Reserve" offers abundant opportunities for underwater activities. A cultural attraction is the "Auckland Museum".
