Cruise Route

Day 1: Palermo (Sicily), Italy. Departure time: 18:00. The largest city in Sicily rises from the Conca d`Oro Bay, surrounded by magnificent orange and citrus groves. Founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BC, the city has been under the rule of the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Spaniards, and Bourbons, all of whom left numerous traces. Palermo`s historic center is one of the largest in Europe, with 158 churches, 55 monasteries, over 400 noble palaces, and 7 theaters. Walking tours through the city can be tailored to different historical periods of interest, but visitors should not miss the Cathedral from 1185 and the famous Capella Palatina. In recent years, the city has been undergoing a transformation to attract culturally interested tourists. The Teatro Massimo, the former Spasimo monastery, Albergo delle Povere, Villa Niscemi, Palazzo Merlo, Chiesa di San Domenico, and many other attractions have reopened to visitors after extensive restoration works.

Day 2: Naples, Italy. Arrival time: 09:00. Departure time: 19:00. Duration of port stay: 10 hours. The city has Greek origins and belonged to the Sicilian Kingdom of the Normans in the 11th century. Worth seeing are the Piazza Garibaldi (the main square of Naples in front of the central train station with the Garibaldi monument, Via Umberto I with many shops, fruit and fish markets, and street vendors everywhere); the old town districts (with the port, the city gate Porta Capuana, the Church of San Francesco, the town hall, and the Galleria Umberto I); the former Royal Palace Palazzo Reale (with the National Library); Castel Sant`Elmo (from the 14th century, located on a hill above the city); the Cathedral of San Gennaro (from the 13th century, with the tomb of the patron saint of Naples, St. Januarius); the National Archaeological Museum (with the famous Alexander Mosaic); and the National Museum (with many findings from Herculaneum and Pompeii).

Day 4: La Goulette (Tunis), Tunisia. Arrival time: 07:00. Departure time: 19:00. Duration of port stay: 12 hours. The seaside resort of La Goulette is located in the northeast of Tunis. The port city offers the opportunity to sit outside restaurants and cafes on beautiful and hot summer nights, especially to enjoy fish specialties and other diverse Tunisian dishes outdoors.
