Cruise Route

Day 1: Cádiz, Spain. Departure time: 21:00. The southern Spanish coastal city in Andalusia has a commercial and a military port. It is connected to the mainland by a narrow 9 km-long strip of land and a bridge. The population is 154,000 inhabitants. Landmarks of the city, founded by the Phoenicians around 1100 BC, include the medical faculty of the University of Seville, the Old Cathedral (13th and 16th centuries), and the New Cathedral, built in the 18th/19th centuries. Historically, Cádiz gained significant importance as the starting point for Spain`s West Indies voyages.

Day 2: Gibraltar, Gibraltar. Arrival time: 08:00. Departure time: 20:00. Duration of port stay: 12 hours. The British city of Gibraltar is located south of the Spanish coast. The 27,300 residents are protected by a heavily fortified military and commercial port. This is due to the unique location of the peninsula of the same name, whose waterway, "The Strait of Gibraltar," is 60 km long and 14 km wide at its narrowest point, connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, Gibraltar has been a site of frequent conflict throughout history: conquered by the Spanish in 1462, they had to cede the island to the British in 1704. Gibraltar was declared a British Crown Colony in 1830. However, the city and its bay are still claimed by Spain. City attractions include the Catholic Cathedral of St. Mary the Crowned, the Anglican Cathedral of "Holy Trinity," the Gibraltar Museum, and the Governor`s Palace "The Convent," where the changing of the guard can be observed several times a day. The most famous inhabitants of the famous Rock of Gibraltar are the Barbary macaques, which the British imported from North Africa in the 18th century.

Day 3: Malaga, Spain. Arrival time: 08:00. Departure time: 17:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. Malaga was founded around the 8th century BC by the seafaring Phoenicians. Today, Malaga is a modern city with a significant commercial port, an airport, and a university. Furthermore, the city enjoys an optimal climate throughout the year, making it one of the main tourist destinations on the Iberian Peninsula.

Sights: The Royal Palace "Alcazaba," built in the 11th century and equipped with an Archaeological Museum, the city`s Cathedral, constructed around 1528, featuring charming chapels "Capilla Mayor" and "Capilla del Sagrado Corazón," numerous churches, the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, the 18th-century buildings "Casa del Consulado," "Palacio de la Aduana," "Casa Palacio del Marques de Valdeflores," and the park areas "Puerta Oscura," "de Ricasso," "de Pedro Luis Alonso.".

Day 4: Sea day.

Day 5: Marseille, France. Arrival time: 09:00. Departure time: 18:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. Marseille is considered the largest and oldest port on the French Mediterranean coast and also a vibrant metropolis. The city was founded in the 6th century BC by Greek settlers in a picturesque bay, thrived on trade, and quickly grew into an important port city. Marseille is a cosmopolitan and welcoming tourist destination that offers numerous shopping, entertainment, and leisure opportunities. Notable landmarks include the Basilica of St. Victor, the Old Port, the "la Ville Charité" almshouse, the Cathedral of la Major, the City Hall, the Museum of Marseille History, the Museum of Roman Docks, the Archaeological Museum, the Longchamp Museum, the Grobet-Labadié Museum, and the Cantini Museum.

Day 6: Savona, Italy. Arrival time: 09:00. Departure time: 16:30. Duration of port stay: 7 hours 30 minutes. The Italian port city and capital of the province of Savona is located on the coast of Liguria. A charming old town with lavishly decorated churches, well-stocked shops, and a modern museum complex invites visitors to stroll, shop, and immerse themselves in the history of the city and region. Must-see attractions include the cathedral, Magellan Fortress tower, Palazzo della Rovere, Archaeological Museum, Sandro Pertini Museum, and the Garibaldi Monument.

Day 7: Barcelona, Spain. Arrival time: 14:00. Departure time: 19:30. Duration of port stay: 5 hours 30 minutes. The city is a successful blend of tradition and modernity. Here you can find both historic buildings from the Middle Ages and modern architecture. Barcelona is considered the most important economic center of Catalonia. In terms of culture, the Mediterranean metropolis has a lot to offer, including the Picasso Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the National Art Museum of Catalonia. In the Gothic old town "Barri Gotic" stands the Cathedral "La Seu" from the 13th century. But the iconic symbol of Barcelona is the church "Sagrada Familia", designed by Antonio Gaudí. In Barcelona, there is a bustling business scene during the day as well as an active nightlife. Another sight to see is the "Rambles", the magnificent promenade located in the center with numerous street cafes, shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Additionally, one should not miss "El Puerto", the port with a beautiful view over Barcelona and the nearby Boulevard "Paseo de Colón".
