Cruise Route

Day 1: Barcelona, Spain. Departure time: 17:00. The city is a successful blend of tradition and modernity. Here you can find both historical buildings from the Middle Ages and modern architecture. Barcelona is considered the most important economic center of Catalonia. In terms of culture, the Mediterranean metropolis has a lot to offer, including the Picasso Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, and the National Art Museum of Catalonia. In the Gothic old town "Barri Gotic" you will find the Cathedral "La Seu" from the 13th century. However, the symbol of Barcelona is the church "Sagrada Familia", designed by Antonio Gaudí. Barcelona is bustling both during the day with business activities and at night with an active nightlife. Another attraction is the "Rambles", the magnificent promenade located in the center, with numerous street cafes, shops, restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. Furthermore, one should not miss "El Puerto", the harbor with its beautiful view over Barcelona and the nearby boulevard "Paseo de Colón".

Day 2: Cannes, France. Arrival time: 09:00. Departure time: 18:00. Duration of port stay: 9 hours. The city of Cannes, with its 70,000 residents, is located on the French Riviera in the south of France. Every year in mid-May, the world-famous Cannes Film Festival takes place here, attended by all the big names in the industry. Another highlight of the city is the magnificent promenade called "Boulevard de la Croisette," lined with palm trees and adorned with flowers. Due to the numerous festivals, regattas, races, flower parades, and many other spectacles, this Mediterranean city is also very popular as a tourist destination. Other attractions include the Lérins Islands of St. Marguerite and St. Honorat, the old town on Mont Chevalier hill with a castle from the time of the Crusaders, and the museum and pilgrimage church of Notre-Dame de l`Espérance.

Day 3: Livorno (Florence), Italy. Arrival time: 06:30. Livorno is about 20 km away from Pisa. With its 180,000 inhabitants, the city is the second largest in Tuscany. Through the "Fossi Medici" (Medici Canals), the canals of the so-called new Venice, which connect the fortress with the port, you can reach the "Piazza Grande" with the cathedral of "San Francesco". Along the "Viale Italia" you can walk to the Terrazza Mascagni, from where you have a magnificent view of the sea and the opposite island of Gorgona. In addition, the municipal aquarium "Diacinto Cestoni" is located on the seafront, which is also the university center for marine biology.

The most important attractions of the city include the "Baths of Caracalla", the Imperial Forum, the Colosseum, the "Piazza Navona", the fountain of the god Neptune, and of course St. Peter`s Basilica with Michelangelo`s dome.

Day 6: Naples, Italy. Arrival time: 06:30. Departure time: 19:00. Duration of port stay: 12 hours 30 minutes. The city is of Greek origin and belonged to the Norman Kingdom of Sicily in the 11th century. From 1282 until the founding of Italy in 1861, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Naples. Worth seeing is the Piazza Garibaldi (main square of Naples in front of the central train station with the Garibaldi monument, Via Umberto I with many shops, fruit and fish markets, and street vendors everywhere); the old town districts (with the harbor, the Porta Capuana city gate, the Francis church, the town hall, the Umberto I gallery); the former royal palace Palazzo Reale (with the national library); the Castel Sant Elmo (dating back to the 14th century, located on a hill above the city); the San Gennaro Cathedral (dating back to the 13th century, with the grave of the city`s patron saint - St. Januarius); the National Archaeological Museum (with the famous Alexander mosaic); the National Museum (with many finds from Herculaneum and Pompeii).

Day 7: Messina (Sicily), Italy. Arrival time: 07:00. Departure time: 18:00. Duration of port stay: 11 hours. Messina is the easternmost provincial capital of Sicily and is located on the Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas. The city was once a famous trading city on the Strait of Messina and was founded by the Greeks in the 8th century BC, conquered by the Romans in 264 BC, and has since experienced a varied history due to its strategic location.

Sights: The Regional Museum, the Norman Cathedral, the Bell Tower "Campanile" with an integrated astronomical clock, and the Church "Ave Maria.".

Day 8: Valletta, Malta. Arrival time: 06:00. Departure time: 14:00. Duration of port stay: 8 hours. Valletta is the first city of modernity, which was completely designed by Jean de la Valetta of the Order of St. John. The capital of Malta is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cagliari is the capital of Sardinia and also the largest and oldest city on the island (dating back to the 8th century BC). It was founded by the Phoenicians and is located in the south of the island. Places of interest: Castle of Karalis from the 13th century, National Archaeological Museum and "Siamese Cardu" Museum, Roman Necropolis of "Travixeddu and Bonaria", Church of San Saturino from the 5th century AD, Cathedral from the 14th century, Elephant Tower and Tower "San Pancrazio", Roman Amphitheater, Botanical Garden.
