The metropolis is a commercial port, industrial center, and cultural city all at once. With over a thousand restaurants offering dishes from 16 Chinese regions as well as international cuisine. A long row of classical high-rise buildings gives Shanghai its characteristic cityscape. In the Old Street, one can find buildings in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The tallest TV tower in Asia, the "Pearl of the East" at 468 meters, is equipped with an elevator that takes tourists to the observation deck, offering a unique view of the city.
