With the expansion of railroad lines in 1912, tourism began to flourish. The most famous resident of the city is Ernest Hemingway, who lived in Key West in the 1930s and 1940s. The Duval Street in the Old Town is definitely worth a visit, with its colorful mix of small shops, bars, and restaurants. Key West also has numerous small museums, such as the Key West Aquarium.
