With its 4.4 million residents, it is the largest city in the Australian continent and serves as the industrial, commercial, financial, and tourism hub of the entire state.

The landmark of Sydney is the sail-shaped Opera House and the world-famous Harbour Bridge in the largest natural harbor in the world. There are over 70 different beaches in the Sydney region, including the popular Bondi Beach, especially favored by surfers.

Other attractions in the city include the Taronga Zoo, the historic district of "The Rocks", the 305-meter high Sydney Tower, and the entertainment hub Darling Harbour.
