Cruise Route

Day 3: Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego), Argentina. Departure time: 18:00. Ushuaia, the capital of the Argentine part of Tierra del Fuego, was built by convicts. The old prison has become a tourist attraction and a must-visit. The city, considered the southernmost in the world, is located by the snow-capped mountains of the Andes and the Beagle Channel. Enjoy the stunning scenery on this cruise day.

Day 4: Sea day.

Day 5: Port Stanley, the small capital of the Falkland Islands with approximately 2000 inhabitants, is nestled in a rugged heath landscape. The city`s special charm comes from its single-storey wooden houses in Victorian style and sights such as the Anglican Cathedral with its unique arcade made of whale bones, as well as the Falkland Island Museum.

Day 6 - 7: Sea day.

Day 8: South Georgia, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. South Georgia is the second largest and most mountainous subantarctic island. Impressive peaks up to 3,000 m high are part of the Andes arc from Tierra del Fuego to the Antarctic Peninsula. For ornithologists, South Georgia is a true paradise: Nearly 60 bird species live here, with about 30 also breeding on the island. A visit to the historic whaling station Grytviken and its museum is particularly interesting. The simple grave of polar hero Sir Ernest Shackleton reminds us of his glorious expeditions. On a visit to Prion Island, you can observe the majestic wandering albatross. Elephant seals, fur seals and king penguins can be seen. Salisbury Plain is home to one of the largest king penguin colonies in South Georgia.

Day 13: South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The South Shetland Islands consist of several islands in the west of the Antarctic Peninsula. The land mass is almost entirely covered by glaciers and some volcanoes. The highest mountain in the South Shetland Islands is Mount Irving, reaching 2,300 meters. Some important research stations are located on the islands. In the summer months, an increasing number of visitors arrive on cruise ships to observe whales, penguins, and seals.
