Cruise Route

Day 1: Theme (Accra), Ghana. Departure time: 19:00. Tema, a port city in Ghana, was founded in 1954 and is part of the greater metropolitan area of Accra, the country`s capital. Along the 540 km long coastline, there are forts and castles as well as sandy beaches dotted with coconut trees. Sunseekers can relax in the tropical climate, while adventure enthusiasts can go on safari in one of the national parks.

Day 2: Takoradi, Ghana. Arrival time: 08:00. Departure time: 20:00. Duration of port stay: 12 hours. Takoradi, located in the western part of the twin city Sekondi-Takoradi, was a small fishing village until the 1920s, when its development began with the construction of the deep-water port and the railway connection to nearby Sekondi. Today, it is home to Ghana`s second-largest port, as well as numerous sawmills and other industries. Approximately 60 kilometers west of the city is the national park, where you can admire the untouched rainforest.

Day 3: Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Arrival time: 08:00. Departure time: 18:00. Duration of port stay: 10 hours. The metropolis of Abidjan is located in the Lagunes region on the Ivory Coast in West Africa. It is the seat of government and the largest city in the country. Abidjan is called the "Manhattan" of Africa because its modern skyscrapers create a beautiful backdrop. The port of Abidjan is an important trading place for wood, cocoa, pineapples, and coffee. One of the sights worth seeing is the National Museum, which provides a good insight into the country`s development.

Surrounded by densely wooded hills, the bustling historic port city of Freetown is located. The "King`s Yard" was where the land distribution for freed slaves took place; the city museum provides insights into this era of local history. During a city stroll, one should take a look at the 500-year-old cotton tree and the De Ruyter stone. Also worth seeing are the "Fourah Bay College", known as the oldest university in West Africa, the Marcons Church built in 1820, and the King Jimmy Market.

A particularly adventurous experience is a trip in the aluguer, the Cape Verdean shared taxi, to Assomada, where a large African-like market takes place twice a week. The center of the city is Plaça 12 de Septembro. It is framed by 19th-century buildings: in the southeast by the church Nossa Senhora da Graça and the majestic Justice Palace right next to it, in the southwest by the Ministry of the Interior and the Banco Comércio do Atlántico on Avenida Amilcar Cabral, which leads across the entire plateau. Also worth seeing is the new Ethnographic Museum, located north of the market.

Day 13: Porto Novo (Santo Antao), Cape Verde. Arrival time: 07:30. Departure time: 18:00. Duration of port stay: 10 hours 30 minutes. Porto Novo, Portuguese for New Harbor, is a city on the mountainous island of Santo Antao and known for its markets with specialties such as goat cheese, fish, and grogue, a white rum.

Las Palmas is the capital of the island of Gran Canaria and offers two large beaches within its two bays. The port of Puerto de la Luz is one of the most important ports in Europe. Las Palmas has a very good infrastructure and impresses with its historic old town, where the Santa Ana Cathedral is located. Since its construction in 1497, the cathedral has been restored and modified several times, resulting in a combination of Gothic, Renaissance, and Neoclassical styles. Other attractions in the old town include the Columbus House.

Day 17: San Sebastián de la Gomera (La Gomera), Canary Islands. Arrival time: 07:00. Departure time: 16:30. Duration of port stay: 9 hours 30 minutes. The capital of the Canary Island La Gomera, with its approximately 4,500 inhabitants, is characterized by a rather rural charm without stress and hustle. Near the promenade of the harbor is the Plaza de Las Américas. This centrally located square is lined with numerous kiosks and terrace cafes and serves as the public meeting place of the city. On its eastern side is the town hall, right behind it is the Plaza de la Constitutión. Among the old Indian laurel trees located there, one can hear the market cries of the Gomerians twice a week, who offer their homemade jams, fresh fruit, vegetables, and other delicacies. In addition, one of the oldest buildings in the city is located here, the former customs house. ".

Day 18: Reef (Lanzarote), Canary Islands. Arrival time: 08:30. Departure time: 13:30. Duration of port stay: 5 hours. Arrecife is the capital of Lanzarote with approximately 40,000 inhabitants. Just 200 years ago, there was only a small port here, which belonged to the former capital Teguise. It was only in the last century that the city slowly began to develop. Arrecife consists almost exclusively of small winding alleys. Attractions include the "Castillo de San Gabriel" with an archaeological museum and the "Castillo de San José". The main shopping streets "Calle Real" and "León y Castillo" are lined with numerous shops and entertainment venues.

The Moroccan city of Agadir is located in a wide bay with a broad sandy beach, set against the backdrop of the foothills of the High Atlas, with the fertile Sous plain as its hinterland. Like every oriental city, Agadir is also known for its market "Souk El Had".
